Hi Amy - we do not carry wooden spoons or toothpicks. I reached out to you after your email, hoping to identify what you ordered and perhaps a logical explanation (such as a piece of kale stem, etc) but without any additional info, we have to entertain the possibility that something fell into your bowl while you were eating it - because we do not carry wood or “stick-like” products, and our menu items are made only of whole fruits, veggies, and liquid bases. Hi Katrina - I’m sorry to hear that you’re disappointed. We ARE locally owned & operated; however we do follow all of Nékter’s corporate specs when it comes to recipes and how we charge. The best way to know if you’re being charged accurately is to order online or via the app - our register experience should mimic the app. I’d like to learn more about your experience, and also if you have any pictures that would be helpful. Our containers are extra deep to allow people to add extra layers of chia puddings, fruit, etc; however the frozen “base” should hit the line of the “e” in the Nekter logo, and the granola should be a flat 3oz scoop. Depending on the bowl you choose, your toppings will vary; however if you’re trying to “sub” bananas for berries, for example, there is an upcharge. (Think about how at the store a pound of bananas are 39cents but a pound of berries is like $3.99 - same concept) Please email me directly at [email protected] if you’d like to share more details and so we can make it right if there was an error on our end! Hey Jennifer - thanks for trying us out! Sorry that your 1st experience with us was on the busiest day we have had yet!! There was an unusual amount of people out for the grand opening of our neighbors, and we weren’t staffed for it. That wait you experienced was highly unusual. If someone behind you was served first, they either ordered ahead on the app or perhaps ordered only a smoothie or juice… bowls take longer to blend and top, and we do not hold other orders back just to make it appear that you’re receiving your items “in order” or first. As for the bowl, I’d like to learn more about your disappointment via email… perhaps you have a photo? Our bowls contain a blended base that does go up about halfway (the line in the “e” of nekter) and is then topped with granola & fruit. There is additional space in our containers to allow people to add layers of chia seed pudding, additional toppings, etc. Our portions are actually quite substantial compared to others out there, but the bigger containers can be misleading.
